Westbrook Youth Football Safety Guidelines

·         Prior to arrival at the field

o   Conduct a Daily 1-2-3 Self-Wellness check for anyone before attending

§  Check your symptoms

§  Consider your personal contacts and risks

§  Take the right steps

o   When in doubt, please do not attend the event

·         Arrival to field

o   Players, coaches and volunteers are to arrive at event (workout, practice, clinics, etc) at least 15 minutes prior to start time

o   Upon arrival, players, coaches and volunteers will immediately check-in with an assigned volunteer/coach

o   After checking in, players will deposit water bottles to assigned area and prepare for the start of practice

Note: Family, spectators and guests will not be asked to check-in at games.  In the event of a potential COVID-19 diagnosis, the league will communicate with the guardians of Players potentially impacted.  It is the responsibility of the guardian to communicate with family, spectator and/or guests of the potentially impacted player as appropriate.

·         Hand Sanitization

o   Sanitizer will be available throughout the complex at clinics, practices and games.

·         Water Bottles and Snacks

o   Water will not be provided.  Players must bring their own water/drinks and snacks.  Drinks and snacks are not to be shared with other players.

·         Shared Equipment

o   Shared equipment will be sanitized between uses and at the conclusion of events as needed.

·         Potential COVID-19 Diagnosis

o  If a player receives a “close contact” notification from the school, or a player/coach knows they have had a close contact, they must isolate for 10* days.  *After 5 days, if the player/family chooses, they may have a test administered, and if the test is negative and if they provide the test results to the league, the player may return to practice.  Otherwise they must wait out the 10 day isolation and if they have no symptoms, they can return.  Vaccination status is not part of our determination.

o  If a player/coach tests positive with a rapid test, they must isolate until they have a     PCR test administered and shows us that the result is negative.  Rapid tests being positive do not indicate a person is COVID-positive.  A PCR test is the much more accurate test.

O If a PCR test comes back positive, the  directly impacted player, coach, volunteer, etc will require a doctor’s note before returning to events

o   Potential COVID-19 will be communicated

§  Guardians are expected to communicate any potential COVID-19 diagnosis with League

§  League will communicate any potential COVID-19 diagnosis with guardians of potentially impacted players, guardians will communicate with other family/spectators as appropriate

Note: Individual names will not be shared beyond League Staff
